Our dear California friend & makeup artist was going to be flying into Corpus Christi for the MAC Selena makeup line grand event. Corpus being only a few hours away we choose to make a quick road trip for the weekend.

People have heard my frustration because I can’t travel due to pregnancy. So since this was going to be the closest to traveling since April I went all crazy planning.

I’m hitting the really hungry stage of my pregnancy so the first thing I started looking up was food and desserts. By the way, I was just given the great news that I do NOT have gestational diabetes. Yes, I will be having my share of sugar now, since I deprived myself so much all these months. I was looking for the much-needed cravings sweets in Corpus.

We were there to spend time with a friend so it was not so much about being a tourist. She hasn’t seen me throughout my pregnancy. She complained that through social media photos I don’t look pregnant. We would have been fine just sitting at a restaurant catching up. Noticed I mention food again.

I always have a bucket list, this is how mine starts

The artist in me always has to go to experience the art in the area. Apparently from what I read there is plenty of outdoor artwork around Corpus Christi. Let’s see how easy it is to find it.

My friend’s biggest thing was going to the Selena Museum but she found out it isn’t open on the weekends. I don’t understand that since there are a lot of tourists that will be there on weekends. We had to make changes to our schedule to be able to see the Selena Museum. #AnythingforSelena

I didn’t think there would be enough time to go to a beach. Yet Corpus Christi has several close by. There is also the boardwalk where the Selena Mirador is at. It’s a long stretch by Corpus Christi’s downtown.

I have my list ready and I will tell you all about our food & Selena experience in Corpus.

  1. I love that you already have a Corpus Christi bucket list! That’s a great way to start planning all the fun you’ll have on your adventure! I look forward to reading all about it!

  2. Awww! You have made me miss Corpus and TEXAS so much! I used to live in San Antonio and we used to could drive out anytime we wanted. Now that I’m in SC I can’t. Sniff sniff. God bless my former home state of Texas!

  3. I think the same thing. So many things to see in TX. Surprisingly so many people don’t venture out. This was just the planning list, follow up for the post about what we actually did 🙂

  4. I believe in those bucket lists. It’s better than trying to remember or writing them down. Plus you get to read lots of different versions of travel stories from travel bloggers. Hope we end up on someone’s Pinterest bucket list!

  5. I enjoy Corpus Christi.

There were people in line here waiting in line for that Selena makeup. It’s not my taste, but I know tons of people like it.

  6. I have been to Corpus to visit my sister. Its 2 hours or so from San Antonio. Its a beautiful city.

  7. I never would have thought of Corpus Christi as a place to visit… but I’d def love to visit the Selena museum…among other things.

  8. I LOVE Selena!! She was my one of my favorite singers when I was a teen. I did not know that there is a new MAC Selena makeup!! OMG I have to buy it just because I love Selena so much. I am so happy to see that they did this in honor of her. Her death was so sad and she was just too young. Thank you for sharing this because now I know to get the Selena makeup!!

  9. Well Im glad I told you about it. I know that the Corpus Christi was the main launch and sold out. Then this last Thursday it launched at MAC stores everywhere. Get on it fast because I heard it was going to sell out fast.

  10. We have always drove by and never had anything lined up so had no idea where to go. It’s not a big adventurous place but it is a quick short weekend trip kind of stop.

  11. Yeah, one of my friends just messaged me and said it sold out online. She tried to order online but the site kept crashing! WOW! I hope they restock soon because I definitely want to order!! Thanks for writing this post! 😀

  12. I’ve never been to Corpus Christi but it actually seems similar to Albuquerque in a lot of ways. PS I need to get my hands on Selena’s MAC collection!

  13. I like how you and your friend are each selecting things you want to do during the trip. Glad you were able to arrange the schedule to fit in the museum visit for her!

  14. It’s been a dream of mine to visit Corpus Christi for ever (truthfully because of the beautiful Selena) and the Selena Museum was already on my list of places to see, but I’ll add beaches and a look around for the different artworks to my list as well! #anythingforselena

  15. Well I hope you come back and visit later this week when we will have the updated post of all the things we actually did in Corpus Christi. I hope it helps plan your future trip. You are so right #AnythingforSelenas

  16. Thank you Sheila. My friend is very much a Texas girl she just happens to be living in California. So I try to give her what she wants when she comes in to visit, or in this case work.

  17. I haven’t been to Albuquerque but I will definitely give it a try. And Lindsay you and so many other girls want to get that makeup. Good luck!

  18. I think even if I wasn’t pregnant I would plan around food, the foodie I married 🙂 Hi Ho was only one of the places we tried. Cme back to check out our detailed post of what we did.
